Renowned charity worker, Betty Makoni to feature on Pamtengo Radio
The renown charity worker , Betty Makoni is due to front a show which will be aired on Pamtengo radio from Monday next week. According to Pamtengo Radio , station manager Golden Tshux- the radio is excited to have her on board.Betty Makoni is well known in the charity circles. She is the founder of Girl Child Network Worldwide, an organisation at the center of a global commitment to gathering, codifying, training and promoting the experiences and expertise of girl advocates
Makoni is said to have perceived the idea of having the organisation in 1998 while in Zimbabwe after listening to the horrifying experiences of young female students in the country.. Her personal experiences of abuse as a child further fueled her determination. Girl Child Network Worldwide has emerged out of multiple personal experiences, collectively representing proven track record that is acknowledged around the world and makes it possible to move seamlessly from the African village to the Global village.
Currently, Girl Child Network Worldwide is the lead organisation in empowering and educating girls in Africa making it the only grassroots organisation for girls sharing its model beyond country of origin.. “We inspire girls to take leadership in gender equality at community level. We believe girls are not victims. They only need their potential unleashed so that they reach their full potential. We are here to inspire and empower so that girls aspire and achieve”. Betty Makoni was announced as CNN hero in 2009 and was honoured by Nicole Kidman. Her radio show on Pamtengo radio will aim to inspire people, empower women, uplift the poor and help create a safer world for children
