Britney accuses her mum of ‘abusing’ her in latest online outburst

ritney Spears has launched a scathing online attack against her mother in which she accused her of “abusing” the popstar.

The 40-year-old singer took to Instagram on Monday where she claimed that in 2019, Lynne Spears had been secretly arranging for her to be involuntarily committed to a psychiatric facility.

Spears was committed a day before her father, Jamie Spears, applied to become her temporary conservator.

She further alleged that her mum had hidden pictures of her, and claimed that she was forced to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings despite “hating” alcohol.

“You have some nerve showing your texts when you know you guys hurt me so bad its not even funny!!! [sic],” Spears wrote about her mum.

“I had you, Miss Jacky, Allie and another friend over the night before they took me away!!! I had done nothing wrong and you kept telling me on my couch we need to go to Malibu cause I think people are coming to get me and I said ‘WHY ???’ [thinking face emojis]!!! I didn’t believe you guys … we had a f***ing sleepover the night before!!!

“It was all planned and you acted like you had no idea what was going on !!! Two weeks later you released a book and showed my heartbreak when Kevin took my kids… you abused me.”

The outburst was in response to an earlier online exchange between Spears and her mum.

In a since deleted post, Spears shared screenshots of text messages sent to her mum, friend and lawyer during her stay in the mental health facility, claiming that all three had failed to respond.

Her mum replied by sharing more screenshots of text conversations that Spears’ friend, Jansen Fitzgerald, posted to her Instagram Story Monday to show that she did reply.

“Britney, I have the ‘whole conversations’ as well!” the 67-year-old wrote alongside it.

While she didn’t post any of her own text exchanges with her daughter, Ms Spears continued: “I hurt for you that you feel the people who love you the most betrayed you! Let me come to you! I love you!”

The Standard has contacted a representative for Lynne Spears for comment.
