Fearne Cotton devastated by another death of one of her cats
earne Cotton has shared her distress after her cat of 21 years died this week.
The presenter, who had Keloy since 2001, was left heartbroken by the loss and made a touching tribute to her on social media.
She wrote: “Yesterday I said goodbye to Keloy after 21 years. I had been dreading this but knew it was on the cards.
“Keloy wasn’t just a pet, she was a friend and a family member. She lived a life of true service, giving each of us unwavering love, comfort and loyalty.”
The former Celebrity Juice team captain, who’d written the message alongside a string of images of her and the feline, including one of Keloy curled up on the sofa, also revealed that she was a rescue cat.
She added: “I got Keloy (along with my other late cat Lula) from @themayhew twenty one years ago and brought her back to my little house in Harrow.
“Since then we moved all over London together. She sat by my side through the best and worst times and gave me a consistency I lacked elsewhere.”
The 40-year-old concluded with: “I will miss looking into her big green eyes and snuggling up to her on the sofa. She was a wise and beautiful soul.
“I know she was ready to go. There was a contentment about her in the final weeks. I am mostly just grateful I had so long with her.
“Love you my angel.”
Friends and followers of the mother-of-two made their well-wishes in the comments.
Actress Martine McCutcheon wrote: “So sorry darling Fearne. Glad you had her love in your life though Xxxxx.”
‘Noooooooooooo!!!! So sorry Fearne! Xxx,’ posted I’m A Celeb… winner Giovanna Fletcher, while Dawn O’Porter commented: “Text incoming. I love you.”
Cotton’s other cat Lula, who she also had for over 20 years, also died last December.
At the time she wrote on Instagram: “Lula saw me at my best and worst and always without judgement. She brought unbelievable amounts of love into my life and for that I will be forever grateful.
“It feels like the end of an era as I literally can’t remember a time before she was in my world.”
