The Open Championship tee times today: Third round groups confirmed for Saturday at St Andrews

he 150th Open Championship heads into what looks set to be a brilliant final two rounds at St Andrews.

A total of 83 players have made it through to the weekend, with those making it through on the number at level par trailing leader Cameron Smith by 13 shots.

As a result of an odd number of players making the cut, Richard Mansell will be out by himself at 8:35am BST to get the third round underway – he won’t have to worry about a long, stop-start round.

Paul Casey, Tony Finau and Justin Thomas are among those out in the morning hoping to make big strides up the leaderboard, though it will take something in the low 60s to get them into anything like contention.

Jon Rahm and Jordan Spieth go out ten minutes apart, nine shots off the lead at four-under, while Matt Fitzpatrick is just outside the top ten and gets his third round underway at 2:50pm as he goes in search of consecutive major victories.

The penultimate group on Saturday sees the Ryder Cup duo of Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland go off together, three shots back at ten-under and both certainly capable of going low.

Smith and Cameron Young will tee off at 3:55pm in the final group, both going in search of their first major win.
