People warned to avoid Luton street as police respond to ‘incident’

Bedfordshire Police has warned people to avoid a Luton street today following an ‘incident’. (Saturday, June 11). Officers rushed to the incident in Axe Close this morning before warning the public to avoid the area.

The force posted on its social media accounts warning people at 11.14am. The post stressed officers were dealing with the incident and trying to establish the circumstances, which are still unknown.

Anyone with any information has been asked to contact police on 101 or report this information online using the reference 99 of 11 June. It is unknown if anyone has been injured at this time.

Bedfordshire Police posted on its Twitter page saying: “We are currently at the scene of an incident in Axe Close, #Luton. We are asking for people to avoid the area whilst our officers deal with the incident and establish the circumstances. Anyone with information can call us on 101 or report online quoting ref 99 of 11 June.”

Bedfordshire Police has been approached for comment.
