Transfer news LIVE! Chelsea ‘confident’ of huge move; Tottenham rival Arsenal for Jesus; latest rumours today
Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are pushing to strengthen their squads ahead of the new season.
With the Premier League fixtures out, it is Spurs who are steaming ahead in the transfer market, adding Yves Bissouma to the signings of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster. At Arsenal, meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus remains a top priority but Tottenham haven’t given up on the Brazilian themselves.
Things at Chelsea have been somewhat slower of late as Todd Boehly waits to make his first signing for the men’s team although it’s claimed that progress has been made in bringing Raheem Sterling to the club, particularly if Romelu Lukaku leaves. Fresh reports from Italy also suggest they have tabled an “important proposal” for Torino’s Gleison Bremer in an attempt to replace Antonio Rudiger. With the international football schedule now over, the Premier League rumour mill surely going to ramp up in the coming days.

The race to sign Gabriel Jesus is hotting up!
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Arsenal are ‘ready to do everything’ to sign the Manchester City striker, with Mikel Arteta desperate to work with the forward again.
However, Tottenham also remain interested and will make a move for the Brazilian as well – they’ll hope their ability to offer Champions League football could help their hopes.
Liverpool not going to meet Salah’s demands
Liverpool are accepting the fact that Mohamed Salah could leave the club for free next summer.
The Mirror report that the Reds are not willing to match Salah’s £400,000-a-week demands, even if it means losing him for nothing in a year’s time.
The departure of Sadio Mane along with the signings of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have convinced the club they are able to replace their big-name stars, and there are no concerns about Salah dropping his standards in what could be his final season at Anfield.
Nketiah and Jesus to team up?
Pep Guardiola has already told Arsenal how Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah can play together.
Nketiah ended speculation over his future on Saturday by signing a new contract, and has been handed the no14 shirt at the same time – the squad number club legend Thierry Henry wore.
Mikel Arteta has made Jesus his top striker target and City are ready to sell for around £50million, though the Gunners are confident of agreeing a deal for less.
“He’s a centre forward, he can play there, but when he is played wide he is more comfortable,” Guardiola previously said.
“We encourage him in central positions to be more open, to see the actions. He can play in the three positions up front, and when we need players who can help a lot, he’s the best in the world.”

Goodwin: Ramsay one of best in world last season
Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin has hailed Calvin Ramsay’s ability after the teenager left the Scottish club to sign for Liverpool.
“There is no doubt this is an exciting opportunity for Calvin and his family,” Goodwin said.
“Liverpool are very lucky, they are getting a promising young talent. His stats in the first half of last season were amongst the top for full backs in the world.
“We certainly had high hopes for him and I’ve no doubt he will go from strength to strength in a very good team at Liverpool.”
Eriksen likely to remain in London
Brentford and Tottenham are leading the race for Christian Eriksen, according to The Athletic.
Manchester United are keen on the midfielder but it’s believed he wants to remain in London and so Brentford and Spurs are the two likely options.
Thomas Frank is desperate to keep Eriksen at the club, and had dinner with the player last week, while Tottenham are confident that Champions League football could be enough to bring the Denmark star back to the club.
Turner ready to push Ramsdale
Matt Turner has warned Aaron Ramsdale that he is coming for his starting spot when he joins Arsenal.
The USA international is set to finalise a move to the Gunners which was first agreed in February, having seen out the last few months with current club New England Revolution in Major League Soccer.
Turner has been signed to be Ramdale’s understudy but the goalkeeper is not ready to settle for a backup role for long.
“I’d agree with it for now,” he told Sky Sports. “I’m coming in to push him and become the best goalkeeper I can become, while also making him the best goalkeeper he can become. That’s really my goal for it all.”

Chelsea ‘confident’ of Sterling signing
Chelsea are now ‘confident’ that they are able to bring Raheem Sterling to Stamford Bridge this summer.
That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims a fee in the region of £35million is likely.
Sterling has just 12 months left on his Manchester City and is open to a move to London. A move for the Englishman is expected to be more likely if Chelsea offload Romelu Lukaku this window.
Blues consider Ake move
Nathan Ake is a surprise name being considered by Nathan Ake, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
Thomas Tuchel is said to be a big fan of the Manchester City defender, who has struggled for regular minutes with the Premier League champions.
Jules Kounde remains a priority for Chelsea but Ake, who joined the Blues’ academy as a 15-year-old, could be someone to keep an eye on this summer.
Chelsea interested in Ait-Nouri
In other left-back news, Chelsea are among those considering a move for Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Wolves would want £45million though for the 21-year-old, according to the Sun, which would test Chelsea’s interest as the Blues look to potentially replace Marcos Alonso.
Man City are also interested in Ait-Nouri and could turn their focus to him if a move for Cucurella does not work out.
Brighton want big money for Cucurella
Manchester City have been told they will need to bid £50million if they are to sign Marc Cucurella.
Brighton are reluctant to sell the left-back, having already lost Yves Bissouma to Tottenham, but would do so if the bid was acceptable. The Athletic report that City may walk away if that valuation if not reduced.
That could have an impact on the future of Oleksandr Zinchenko, with City currently willing to sell him as they target Cucurella.
