Transfer news LIVE! Chelsea want Richarlison; Arsenal in Raphinha approach; Tottenham latest; rumours

Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are pushing hard to strengthen their squads ahead of the new season.

Mikel Arteta’s side remain interested in Raphinha, also wanted by Spurs. Gabriel Jesus is in the middle of a tug of war between the two north London rivals, with Antonio Conte looking to swoop for the Gunners’ number one attacking target. Tottenham have also been given a boost in their pursuit of Alessandro Bastoni.

Chelsea are kicking into gear too and want to make Raheem Sterling the marquee signing of their new era under Todd Boehly’s ownership while Richarlison has emerged as another attacking target. Reports also suggest Torino defender Gleison Bremer is a key target for the club and a proposal has been made in an attempt to replace Antonio Rudiger. With the international football schedule now over, the Premier League rumour mill is ramping up so watch this space!

Chelsea pundits question Sterling pursuit

Former Chelsea stars Franck Leboeuf and Craig Burley fear the club are ignoring their biggest problem by pursuing a deal for Raheem Sterling.

The Manchester City winger, out of contract next summer, is the subject of interest from Stamford Bridge and Standard Sport reported on Monday that he would be open to the transfer.

“That’s not going to resolve the problems Chelsea have, I think in terms of scoring goals and bringing the confidence back to all the players.” Leboeuf told ESPN.

“If this deal does happen, are Chelsea just trying to overload themselves with similar players?” added Burley.

The 23-year-old spent time on loan at Nottingham Forest and Rotherham last campaign, having previously enjoyed a stint with the German club.

Sell Xhaka to blood young talent, pundit tells Arsenal

The time is right for Arsenal to sell Granit Xhaka, former Gunners star Kevin Campbell has told Football Insider.

He said: “The midfield needs to be revamped. There needs to be more speed and goals injected into that midfield.

“The reliance on Granit Xhaka that Arsenal had has to go. There has to be enough midfielders there who can do a job.

“This is probably the last time we could get money for Xhaka realistically. He is an international player, a good player but the time has come. If an opportunity comes along I think they should move him on and get younger legs in there.”

Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij has been offered to Arsenal.

With Tottenham target Gleison Bremer set to arrive from Torino, the Nerazzurri could cash in on the Dutchman ahead of his deal expiring next summer.

CalcioMercatoWeb claim Inter will want to sign Arsenal defender Gabriel in return for De Vrij plus around £20m.


Clauss a potential Azpilicueta replacement for Chelsea

Jonathan Clauss has entered Chelsea’s radar.

The Lens right-back is valued at £8.5m by the French club and would be a replacement for Cesar Azpilicueta, if the Spaniard leaves west London when his contract expires.

Clauss racked up 11 assists and five goals last season, with Chelsea’s interest reported by La Voix du Nord.

Arsenal have confirmed loan moves for Omar Rekik and Harry Clarke ahead of the new season.

Rekik, 20, is set for a spell in the Dutch top-flight after signing for Sparta Rotterdam for the 2022-23 campaign.

Clarke will spend the new season on loan at Championship side Stoke.

Hoffenheim left-back David Raum is reportedly a target for Manchester United.

Sky Sports in Germany detail talks between the two clubs over a deal worth approximately £30m.

Borussia Dortmund are another side said to be monitoring the situation. Raum is also a long-term target of Tottenham’s.
