Donald Trump hush money sentencing delayed over immunity ruling

A judge has delayed sentencing Donald Trump due to his conviction over falsifying business records to conceal a hush-money payment to former porn star Stormy Daniels.

The Republican presidential candidate nominee was told during a hearing at a court in New York that he will now be sentenced on September 18.

It comes after Trump’s legal team lodged a challenge to his conviction and a US Supreme Court ruled yesterday he is partially immune from prosecution for actions taken while he was in the White House.

He was originally due to be sentenced on 11 July.

This is a breaking news story and is being updated.
