Labour row over Gaza ceasefire deepens after major rebellion and resignations

Labour’s row over calls for a ceasefire in Gaza has escalated after Sir Keir Starmer suffered a major rebellion during a vote on the issue.

Sir Keir suffered 10 resignations from his front bench, including shadow minister Jess Phillips, after several senior MPs confirmed they would defy a ban on voting in favour of a ceasefire in Gaza.

Meanwhile Rishi Sunak has said he will seek to revive his plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda with emergency legislation, after the Supreme Court ruled the landmark plan unlawful in a major blow to the Government.
